Jibanananda Das is one of the most significant modern poets in Bengali literature. He is known as the "Poet of Ruposhi Bangla" for his vivid depictions of nature and rural Bengal. He introduced a unique modernist style to Bengali poetry.

Early Life & Education:

Jibanananda Das was born on 17th February 1899 in Barishal, Bangladesh. His father, Satyananda Das, was a schoolteacher, and his mother, Kusumkumari Das, was also a poet. He studied English literature at Presidency College, Kolkata, and later completed his master's degree from the University of Calcutta.

Literary Career:

Jibanananda's poetry is characterized by solitude, nature, and deep philosophical reflections. He played a crucial role in shaping post-Tagorean modern Bengali poetry.
